I met John when I came to West Point for a visit before I arrived to instruct, circa March 2005. In his words, upon meeting me he thought, "I got dibs!" Instead, I thought..."How old is this guy?" After my official arrival, John and I discovered we had a lot in common. We both like bicycles...I pretend to ride them and he actually does...one of these days maybe I'll actually be converted to an avid rider. In the meantime, I'll continue to live vicariously through OLN's (Versus') coverage of the Tour. I think we actually became friends when we realized we both love shoes, movies, trying new restaurants, laughter, and, over time, each other.
As you all know, we're also passionate about challenging and assisting the cadets. It's our dream to come back and teach again in the future.
Our Wedding will be at Anse Chastanet, Soufriere, St Lucia on the 15th of March 2007 at 1730 (5:30 pm).
The reception will immediately follow the ceremony and will be at Prou au Diable, Anse Chastanet.
We are staying at Jade Mountain; however, we have determined Jalousie Plantation or Anse Chastanet to be the best locations for guests to stay.
Jalousie Plantation has air conditioning and is currently running a stay 4 for 2 special; if you book 4 nights, you get the 3rd and the 4th nights for free. We recommend guests consider arriving on the 12th and stay through the 16th or arrive on the 13th and leave the 17th. Due to the special, rooms range in price from $225/night to $322/night for a 4-night stay. You can contact them at:

Anse Chastanet is the wedding location. Although it does not have air conditioning, reviews indicate it to be a nicer hotel. Prices there run from $405-$775/night. Contact them at:

Despite the fact that we have chosen to have a small, destination wedding, we want you to know that you are helping us realize our dream. First of all, John knew I would be a miserable person getting ready for a big wedding and a if I'm miserable, that would affect everyone else. Secondly, we realized before we began that the location and food were top on our list...also, we knew nothing in the area exactly suited us. When we started looking at destination weddings, we quickly recognized being married was much more important to us than any of the rest of it. At Jade Mountain, www.jademountainstlucia.com, our dream can come true...the location, the food, and each other.
We can't wait to get there so we can share the experience with you all! :)
