About getting to Delhi – Several airlines have direct flights to New Delhi (Continental and Air India fly direct from New York - however, Air India pilots were on strike, the last we checked). In addition, almost every major airline has flights to Delhi. It should be easy to get to from Chicago, London, Paris, Frankfurt.

Places to stay – We have negotiated a rate with Hotel Radisson Blu Marina in Connought Place, very close to the Imperial. The rates are INR (Indian rupees) 7500 + taxes (around 17.5%) for single occupancy and INR 8500 + taxes for double occupancy. One US dollar can fetch between 55 to 57 Indian rupees. The rates include breakfast and wifi.

The Radisson will hold these rates until September 15th (they may still be able to do something after that). Their email responses have been somewhat off the mark, so if you have any difficulty in getting responses, or securing the rates, please let us know.

The Radisson will also be able to arrange a pickup for you, at the Delhi airport. If you set it up, they will have a car waiting for you. Also, we highly recommend their restaurant, The Great Kebab Factory, for an introduction to the food from the Indian Subcontinent.

The Imperial is another option but is pricey ($300 to $400 range). They are already booked, but have promised to provide rooms to us, if anyone is interested. If you're interested in staying at the Imperial, please let us know and we will facilitate it for you.

Sightseeing - We recommend a travel agent called Indian Routes, if you want to arrange a sightseeing tour within India. They are helping several guests plan trips to the Taj Mahal and Rajasthan. They are good at creating customized trips according to your needs.
